STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE

How to Calculate an Assessment Score

Follow these simple steps in the Guest Portal to compute an official USAF composite fitness score per DAFMAN 36-2905 standards.

STEP 1
Guest Information
Select test type (Single-Guest or Multi-Guest). Enter Guest Name, Age, Sex, Height (inches), and Waist Circumference (inches).
STEP 2
Component Event Selection
Choose your Strength event (Push-Ups or HRPU), Core event (Sit-Ups, Plank, or CLRC), and Cardio event (2-Mile Run, HAMR Shuttle, or 2.0 Km Walk).
STEP 3
Enter Performance Values
Type reps completed for strength/core, or minutes and seconds for plank and run events. For HAMR, enter level and shuttle count.
STEP 4
View Results & Coaching
Click Calculate Score to generate score badge, category (Excellent / Satisfactory / Unsatisfactory), component targets, and exact math expression.

GUEST MODES

Single Guest Mode vs. Multi-Guest Mode

👤 Single Guest Mode

Default view for evaluating one individual guest. Enter scores, track target reps, and view instant performance feedback.

👥 Multi-Guest Mode

Enable by selecting Multi-Guest test type on Panel 0. Creates guest tabs across the top to evaluate multiple guests in parallel.

💡 Guest Tab Management:
In Multi-Guest Mode, click the + Add Guest button on the top tab bar to create new guest tabs manually. Each tab maintains its own independent inputs, component selections, and calculated score.

COMPONENTS

Component Input Fields & Event Rules

📏 Body Composition (WHtR):
Enter Height (Feet & Inches) and Waist Circumference (inches). The calculator automatically computes Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR).
• WHtR < 0.49 = 20.0 Pts (Low Risk)
• WHtR 0.49 - 0.54 = 15.0 - 19.5 Pts (Moderate Risk)
• WHtR ≥ 0.55 = 0 Pts (High Risk / FAIL - triggers mandatory Tier 2 BFA tape modal!)
💪 Muscular Strength & Core Endurance:
• Strength: Select 1-Min Push-Ups OR 2-Min Hand Release Push-Ups (HRPU). Maximum 15 points.
• Core: Select 1-Min Sit-Ups, 2-Min Cross Leg Reverse Crunch (CLRC), OR Forearm Plank. Maximum 15 points.
🏃 Cardiorespiratory Fitness:
• 1.5-Mile Run: Enter minutes and seconds. Maximum 50 points.
• 20m HAMR Shuttle: Enter HAMR Level & Shuttle count. Maximum 50 points.
• 2.0 Km Walk: Evaluated on a PASS/FAIL basis per altitude standards. Denominator scales to available points.
MEDICAL PROFILES

AF Form 469 Medical Profile Exemptions

Click the AF Form 469 Profile button on the top right of any component card to open the Exemption Configuration Modal.

Option 1: Exercise Modality Restriction
Use when cleared for a component but restricted from a specific exercise modality (e.g. restricted from Push-Ups, but cleared for HRPU).
Option 2: Exemption Category 2 - PFRA Hold
Per DAFMAN 36-2905, temporary component exemptions restrict all physical assessment components (Strength, Core, Cardio) and place the member on PFRA Hold. Physical testing fields are locked. WHtR screening remains mandatory unless Exempt WHtR is specifically checked.
Option 3: Exemption Category 3 - ALC Code / Enduring Exemption
For Airmen with ALC Code (C1, C2, C3). Enter ALC code and check cleared components. Composite score denominator scales automatically.
Option 4: Full Composite Exemption
Exempt from all components. Recorded as COMPOSITE EXEMPT with no numerical score assigned.
📐 Point Math Scaling Formula:
Composite Score = (Points Earned ÷ Total Cleared Available Points) × 100
Example: Strength Exempt (15 pts unavailable). Total available denominator = 85. Earned points = 84.5. Composite score = (84.5 / 85) × 100 = 99.4%.
BFA TAPE

Tier 2 Body Fat Assessment (BFA) Tape Modal

When WHtR is ≥ 0.55 (0 points), the app automatically triggers the WHtR Screening Failed / Tier 2 BFA Tape Modal.

♂ Male Circumference Tape
• Neck: Measured below larynx (rounded UP to 0.5")
• Abdomen: Measured at umbilicus (rounded DOWN to 0.25")
• Passing Standard: Body Fat ≤ 26.0%
♀ Female Circumference Tape
• Neck: Measured below larynx (rounded UP to 0.5")
• Waist: Measured at minimal width (rounded DOWN to 0.25")
• Hips: Measured at maximal protrusion (rounded DOWN to 0.25")
• Passing Standard: Body Fat ≤ 36.0%
ℹ️ BFA Result Impact on Fitness Score:
If Tier 2 BFA tape standard is PASSED, the member passes body composition screening despite WHtR 0 pts, allowing them to pass the official fitness assessment!
RESULTS & TOOLS

Coaching Targets & Exact Calculation Math

On Panel 6 (Results Dashboard), the PTL Coaching Assistant card provides tailored target reps and exact calculation math.

VISUAL EXAMPLE: PTL Coaching Assistant Card on Panel 6 EXACT MATH DISPLAY
💡 Coaching Assistant:
Current Score: 84.5% (Passing). To reach EXCELLENT (90.0), you need 5.5 more points.
  • Core (SU): Currently 14.5/15. Next target: reach 56 reps for 15 pts.
  • Cardio (2-Mile Run): Currently 50/50.
📐 Exact Calculation Math:
WHtR 20 + Strength Exempt + Core 14.5 + Cardio 50 = 84.5/85 * 100 = 99.4%
⚡ Available point denominator scaled from 100 down to 85 points per DAFMAN 36-2905.
GUEST FAQ

Guest Portal Frequently Asked Questions

Select Multi-Guest test type on Panel 0. This activates the multi-guest tab bar across the top. Click + Add Guest to create additional guest tabs for evaluating multiple individuals.
No, unit CSV roster imports and unit draft suspense logging are reserved for the Jayhawks unit portal. The Guest Portal allows full score calculations, target rep tracking, and stopwatch timing without unit database dependencies.
Input fields become disabled if a component is marked as medically exempt on the AF Form 469 profile modal (or if Exemption Category 2 PFRA Hold is active). Uncheck the exemption to re-enable manual score entry.
The 2.0 Km Walk test is graded on a PASS/FAIL basis. Passing Walk satisfies the cardio requirement, and the 50-point cardio denominator is exempted, scaling composite score to available cleared points.
